Scope of Bioengineering
Bioengineering has an immediate impact on major industrial sectors in Pakistan including pharma and medicine, food and agriculture, feed and livestock, materials, chemicals, energy and the environment. As these sectors get inevitably disrupted by the emerging technology and its applications, Pakistan will need skilled workforce and the infrastructure to deal with the change that we face in the coming decades. Students may get employed at universities following the well-trodden path of academia that includes teaching and research. Students may also choose to get employed by the industries across the different sectors mentioned above. Bioengineers are problem-solvers, and our students may also choose to target specific problems themselves as innovators and Entreprenuers. Lastly, there is a massive demand for STEM graduates in the realm of media and communications, pubic policy, business and supply chains and other allied parts of the economy.
